Our guardian of the gate, Fidy, built our garden wall in one morning. Now it will be covered with cement and painted, but I also like being able to see the bricks.
Fidy is a guy with talents. You would never know from the pic that he is missing his two front teeth. He gives massages in his tiny guard station, guards the gate, and builds excellent garden walls. He probably hasn't been to school; he couldn't calculate the change he owed me from 10,000 ariary ($4.44), so Sr. Floriine suggested he pay for the bricks and put the change in his pocket, pay for the dirt and put the change in his pocket, and later give me the change. It cost about 65,000 ariarys ($30.00) for all the bricks, the cement, the sand, the dirt, and the labor.
Over this arm you can see a little kid sitting in a small box, exactly his (her?) size, at the curb. How many times have my kids and grandkids done that?
A closer view of his/her cute face.
Today in EL class, students were making the classic mistake of writing "He has a curly hair..." so I drew a circle face with one curly hair protruding from the top to show what that meant. They liked that.
